On behalf of the people of House District 100, and everyone who has or loves someone with a so-called “pre-existing condition,” I’m urging Senator John Cornyn and Senator Ted Cruz to dig deep and locate their conscience, vote against the confirmation of Judge Amy Coney Barrett. ... Next week! Tune in! Y’all have I mentioned that I’ve been busy? 🙂

Today I had an amazing time speaking to the SCIIP (Second Chance Community Improvement Program) participants. This one is near and dear to my heart for a few reasons. There are only 3 zip codes targeted by this program and they are all in in HD100. One of my closest friends and best judges, Stephanie Mitchell Huff, over sees the program and one of my favorite First Ladies and HD100 constituents is a part of the program,Yulise.

I moved on to speak with students from the civil rights club at St. Marks under the leadership of HD100 constituent Korey Mack.

Finally, my day ended with an amazing roundup of democratic candidates and we were brought together by MJ Hegar.

This was just my zoom/state rep life for the day... I wont begin to tell you about the many other hats. Anyway, tell me where you are going to vote tomorrow and when... I want to meet you there 🙂.MERCH IS AVAILABLE:

It's time for the third installment of our (3) part series featuring black woman politicians from around the country!

Texas State Representative Jasmine Crockett is also a criminal defense attorney, a former public defender, a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority, and President of the Dallas Black Criminal Bar Association.

Co-host Dan Spiffy Neuman is a guitarist, organist, minister, and musical director from Madison WI. Dan was raised and mentored by activists and civil rights leaders, and does not know how to shut up about the issues he cares about.

Co-host Michael Bland was Prince's drummer from 1989 on (perhaps best known for the iconic Diamonds and Pearls drum solo) and has been a member of Soul Asylum for 15 years. He toured or did session work with Chaka Khan, Maxwell, the Jonas Brothers/Nick Jonas, Mandy Moore, Demi Lovato, George Benson, and many many others. He is also a loud voice for social and political issues in Minneapolis.
